Composition and Arrangement

Morgan Quinn is an accomplished producer, composer and arranger of several different styles and instruments. In 2016 he co-founded jazz fusion project Cloud Six, and is the collaborative group’s bandleader and principle composer. Cloud Six’s 2018 eponymous debut record was well received by jazz critics and radio stations throughout the Northwest. The record features two of Morgan’s original compositions:

Morgan is also an experienced arranger and studio session musician, with work featured on over 40 records and single releases in a wide variety of genres. His list of horn arranging clients includes international touring acts like MarchFourth, Fox & Bones and Christopher Worth. Morgan has also been a writing and arranging contributor to many of the projects he has toured and performed with over the years (1000 Fuegos, Sepiatonic, NIAYH…) with performances of original work at venues like Brooklyn Bowl (NY), The Fonda Theater (CA) Lightning In a Bottle Festival (CA), Waves Festival (Vienna, Austria) and Burning Man (NV).

The first single from the record “Better Land” by folk-pop group Fox and Bones featuring three-piece horn section arrangement with trumpet, alto and tenor saxes.

An arrangement and performance of alto and bari saxes for “30503” a latin-electronic record by Portland and Miami-based project 1000 Fuegos.

An arrangement of Aretha Franklin’s “Baby, I Love You” for Portland’s horn and circus force of joy MarchFourth, featuring Sarah Clarke on lead vocals and Morgan on guitar.

A horn-based arrangement of RJD2’s trip-hop classic “Ghostwriter” for Cloud Six.
